The design is inspired by the Palawan South Sea Pearls and it's emergence from the Pinctada Maxima's mantle.
'Emergere' which means 'bring to light' shows the emergence of the South Sea Pearl from the 'nacre' or 'mother-of-pearl' and its iridescence at the first sight of light.
In this design, the sculpted wood represents the oyster's mantles and gills where the 'nacre' can be found.
The light bulb represents the pearl.
